FIT loves Boston! It's our hometown race and the marathon that kicked off this unbelievable journey. To make race weekend smooth for you we sourced two incredible hotels in the heart of downtown Boston, only two blocks from each other - the Hilton Boston Park Plaza and Hotel AKA Back Bay. Both hotels are ideally situated within easy walking distance to all marathon weekend events - .8 mile to the expo, 500m from the buses to the start, one block to the 5K and a few blocks from the iconic Boston finish line. This Boston program consisting of fantastic hotel location, a locals welcome get together, fun coach & historical storytelling tour of the marathon course, pre-race dinner & post race celebration gives you an excellent race weekend program to truly experience all that marathon weekend in Boston represents!
You really can't go wrong with either hotel choice, but if you're debating, here is a note on each:
Hilton Boston Park Plaza - classy with historic charm, a long-time Boston staple just a block off of the beautiful Boston Public Gardens (home of two Boston classics: the Swan Boats and the duckling statues).
Hotel AKA Back Bay - a contemporary, sophisticated vibe with more of a boutique feel just a few blocks off of Newbury Street, famed for its upscale shopping and dining.

Welcome to Boston, the city and marathon weekend (and our hometown event). We are SO excited you are here! Arrivals begin on Friday or Saturday for our tour program. We do recommend arriving on FRI so you can take advantage of all that race weekend has to offer!
After arriving into Boston, make your own way to the hotel. Check-in with your first and last name. Both of our FIT hotel options are in incredible locations for all race weekend needs - walking distance to the expo, the 5K, the buses to the start, and the finish line!
Today is a great day to get to the expo and snag the most important ticket of the weekend - your Boston 26.2 Marathon bib!
Early evening, in FIT tradition, we kick off the weekend at our favorite pub, MJ O'Connors (connect to the Hilton Boston Park Plaza). Join us this evening for a welcome hello, beverage, and to collect your welcome amenity.
If you are arriving today, welcome! Today is a great day to grab your bib from the expo (if you haven't already) and then hit some of the pop ups on Boylston, Newbury St, and attend a bit of Fan Fest offerings. There is such a great vibe with the pop-ups in town!
This morning is typically the 5K run...a fabulous event that finishes at the actual BM finish line on Boylston - how exciting! This event is open to everyone, great for spectators and friends in town, a super fun shakeout for runners, and sells out very quickly. It's been so popular in fact that last year entry required a lottery!
Today is also a great day to explore Boston - walk the Freedom Trail, stroll the Public Garden and the Commons, book a Duck Tour, tour Fenway Park and/or book a ticket to the Red Sox Game! Visit Harvard Square...maybe paaaahhhk your caaaaaah...wink!
The city is abuzz marathon weekend - enjoy it!
Race Eve! Today is a day to rest and relax. Maybe take in a Sox Game. Is there a matinee on that works well? Check the weather and prep any last minute needs for race day - breakfast items, run supplements, clothing for cooler weather, etc.
Today FIT programming includes a tour of the Boston 26.2 Marathon Course and a casual, fun pre-race dinner.
TOUR THE BOSTON COURSE: FIT will take you on a journey out to Hopkinton to where race day magic begins - The Start Line. Get a chance to see the course, learn from our expert coaches on how to navigate the hills, stop at landmarks along the way - especially Hopkinton Center for the Arts & the Bobbi Gibb Statue, The Start Line (painted in all it's glory), The Team Hoyt Statue, the Start Gun Statue, pass the Spirit of the Marathon Statue, Spencer the Dog, Heartbreak Hill, Johnny Kelley and head towards the Citgo Sign past Fenway to view the right on Hereford...this is a great way to stay off your feet today and explore the course.
This evening, join FIT for our pre-race dinner. Take the stress out of reservations and join us at our pre-race dinner. We do our best to accommodate vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and protein eaters - if you have a very specific pre-race routine/meal - we recommend securing reservations on your own.
After a great meal with friends, fellow runners and spectators - it's time for a good nights sleep!
Today is the day - you're off! Time to walk to the buses that will bring you out to Hopkinton for the 131st running of the marathon from Hopkinton to Boston!
Afterwards, opt to meet your fellow FIT runners and spectators for a post-race beverage & celebration.
It has been our pleasure to host you at the 2027 Marathon of our hometown race, Boston! We hope you enjoyed our city and the time spent here with your fellow runners, spectators and friends. We also hope that you left with some core memories, new run stories, and some fab friends in the running community - especially FIT!
Congratulations, safe travels and we can't wait to host you once again! Happy running wherever your feet take you next...
